Mosquitos
Mosquitoes are more than just a nuisance. They can disrupt your outdoor activities and carry diseases such as West Nile virus. In Southern California, mosquito activity can be nearly year-round, especially in warm and wet conditions. At Disinfest Pest Control, we offer effective mosquito control solutions to help you reclaim your yard.
With the right combination of prevention, targeted treatments, and ongoing monitoring, you can enjoy your outdoor spaces without constant mosquito bites.
Our mosquito services are available as an add-on to your Routine Service Plan or as a standalone program.
Our Mosquito Control Methods
Station-Based Mosquito Control:
We install discreet mosquito stations that attract egg-laying female mosquitoes. Inside, they pick up a specially formulated agent that both reduces adult mosquito populations and prevents larvae from developing. This method works to target mosquitoes at their source, the breeding cycle.
Targeted Vegetation Treatments:
When appropriate, we can spray mosquito resting areas such as shaded foliage and dense vegetation. We only perform this service when it will not harm pollinators or be applied to fruit-producing trees.

Did You Know?
Wearing light-colored clothing can make you less attractive to mosquitoes, as darker colors tend to draw them in. Setting up a fan can also help reduce bites, as the moving air disperses carbon dioxide, which mosquitoes use to locate people.

Why Mosquitoes Are a Problem Here
In addition to our warm climate and frequent sources of standing water, Southern California has seen an increase in aggressive, daytime-biting mosquitoes (Aedes aegypti and Aedes albopictus). These species were first introduced through the Long Beach area decades ago, likely via imported goods, and have since spread across the region. A combination of warm winters, wet years, and urban irrigation has allowed them to thrive year-round and expand into neighborhoods throughout the Inland Empire and beyond.
