Ants

Ants are one of the most common household pests in Southern California. Whether they’re invading your kitchen, bathroom, or outdoor spaces, these persistent pests can quickly become a nuisance. At Disinfest Pest Control, ant control is included in our Routine Service Plan, and we guarantee interior ant control for customers on this plan.

We limit interior treatments to only when needed, and carefully select the products we use indoors with consideration for the health of children and pets.

Our Approach to Ant Control

  • Exterior barrier treatments to stop ants before they enter

  • Targeted interior applications when needed for active infestations

  • Baiting programs to reach the colony, not just the foraging ants you see

  • Moisture and sanitation recommendations to reduce food and water sources

  • Follow-up visits as needed under your Routine Service Plan guarantee

Interior Ant Guarantee for Routine Customers!

If ants return inside between scheduled visits, we will come back at no additional charge to treat the problem.

Signs of an Ant Infestation

  • Trails of ants indoors, especially near kitchens, pantries, and pet food areas

  • Small piles of soil or debris around baseboards, windows, or cracks

  • Ant activity around plumbing lines, sinks, or other water sources

Prevention Tips for Homeowners

  • Keep food stored in sealed containers

  • Wipe up spills and crumbs promptly

  • Avoid leaving pet food out for extended periods

  • Trim back vegetation touching your home

  • Seal gaps and cracks around doors, windows, and plumbing

With ongoing service, ant populations can be kept under control year-round — and your home stays protected inside and out.

Common Ant Species in Our Area

Argentine ants: Small, light to dark brown ants that travel in long, noticeable trails. Known for nesting in soil, mulch, and along building foundations.

Odorous house ants: Brown to black ants that give off a strong, unpleasant odor when crushed. Frequently found in kitchens and bathrooms.

Harvester ants: Larger ants often found outdoors, sometimes near bare soil patches. Can deliver a painful sting if disturbed.

Did You Know?

Please refrain from spraying ants before we arrive. Most store-bought insect sprays are repellents — which may sound helpful at first but can actually drive the infestation deeper into your home. Our professional treatments are designed to target the colony directly for longer-lasting results.

Why Ants Are a Year-Round Problem Here

Our warm climate allows ants to remain active year-round. While they typically nest outdoors, extreme weather conditions such as heat or rain can drive them inside in search of food, water, and shelter.

Need Ants Gone?

Ants explode in our Riverside County heat. If they’re marching into your kitchen or yard, we’re right here in Murrieta and surrounding communities to help.
